The Confocal Microscope Facility has a Zeiss LSM 510 Laser Scanning Microscope on an inverted Axiovert 100 M, equipped with:
- 4 lasers
- 5 detectors (4 fluorescent and 1 visible)
- 21 emission filters
- six objective lenses
- Bioptechs heated stage for biological imaging
- second computer workstation
- Kodak thermal printer
The flexibility of the microscope configuration permits capturing images of up to 4 fluorochromes (plus transmitted light image) simultaneously. In addition, system software allows:
- collection of z-stacks
- 3-D reconstruction
- multiple acquisition modes
- collection of time series
- FRET/FRAP
- data analysis
- and much more!
